Great Sports Replay replays historic sports seasons, from the early days of professional baseball onward, using sports simulation software, and writes up each season as if it were happening for the first time.
The project was started by a blogger writing as TheMightyHurka, who simulated major league baseball, horse racing, tennis and the Olympics season by season, beginning in 1901. The original posts are kept here as an archive, and new articles continue the series.
Simulated, not historical
Every replay post shows the results of a simulation. Teams, players and schedules come from the real seasons, but scores, standings and champions can differ from what actually happened. Posts in the History of Baseball series are background articles about the real history of the game.
